Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Technician with hands-on experience in metal manufacturing and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). This role is critical in ensuring that products such as manifolds, spindles, jacks, hubs
, and other precision metal components meet internal and customer quality standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing inspections, preparing PPAP documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections on metal components using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM).
- Prepare and submit complete PPAP packages (Levels 1-5) in accordance with customer and industry requirements.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure product compliance.
- Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections of machined and fabricated metal parts.
- Maintain and update quality documentation including control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer audits).
- Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures.
- Monitor and report on quality metrics and trends.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing, engineering, or quality preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a quality role within a metal manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of PPAP documentation and submission processes.
- Familiarity with machining processes, metal fabrication, and mechanical components.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T.
- Experience with quality tools such as Control Plans, FMEA, Gage R&R, and SPC.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Knowledge of metallurgy and surface finish requirements.
- Familiarity with ERP and QMS software systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Occasionally required to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to handle materials safely.
- Frequently required to utilize wrist, hand and finger dexterity.
- Manufacturing setting

- Reliable, self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision
Rate:
In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, the hourly payrate for this position is $23.00-$27.00. This payrate is provided to ensure transparency and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
