Title: General Laborer / Yard Team Member Location: Romeoville, IL Pay: Starting at $21.00/hour

Job Summary: The Plant Team – Pipe supports daily concrete pipe and precast manufacturing operations by preparing, assembling, and maintaining molds, forms, reinforcement, and materials used in production. This role performs a variety of hands‑on plant and production tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations while supporting changing production demands. This is an entry‑level manufacturing opportunity with on‑the‑job training provided for equipment operation, safety procedures, and production processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Prepare, inspect, and stage concrete forms and molds before each production cycle.
  • Read and follow production instructions, layouts, shop drawings, and work orders.
  • Place and secure steel reinforcement, including rolled mesh, rebar cages, and loose rebar, using approved tools and equipment.
  • Install concrete accessories such as steps, knockouts, spacers, inserts, and related components.
  • Clean forms, molds, tools, and production areas after each production cycle.
  • Stage materials and components to support efficient production flow.
  • Assemble and position form components according to specifications and production requirements.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment after completing required training and certification.
  • Apply concrete release agents to molds and production equipment as directed.
  • Assist with moving, setting up, and cleaning headers, pallets, and equipment for concrete pours.
  • Operate overhead or jib cranes after completing required training.
  • Work safely around automated manufacturing equipment while following all plant safety procedures.
  • Participate in quality inspections, safety meetings, housekeeping activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional production and plant support duties as assigned.

Education &

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Zero to two years of manufacturing, production, construction, or industrial experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely work around machinery, equipment, and material handling operations.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the flexibility to support changing production priorities.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, processes, and cross‑train across production areas.

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, gripping, and repetitive movement throughout the workday.
  • Occasional kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting of materials weighing up to 100 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment.
  • Ability to safely perform repetitive manufacturing tasks while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other manufacturing equipment after completing required training.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in both indoor manufacturing facilities and outdoor production areas, with approximately equal time spent in each environment.
  • Frequent exposure to moving machinery, heavy equipment, concrete materials, dust, dirt, varying weather conditions, confined spaces, and loud industrial noise.
  • Regular work around automated production equipment and material handling machinery.
  • Standard 40-hour workweek with no regular travel required.
  • Required use of company‑provided personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while working in production areas.
