Set-Up Technician | Injection Molding
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Set-Up Technician to support production on 300-ton injection molding machines with robotics and automation
. This hands-on role is responsible for mold changeovers, process optimization, troubleshooting, and quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Set up and operate injection molding machines, robotics, and automation systems.
- Perform mold changeovers and establish process parameters including temperature, pressure, and feed rates.
- Monitor and adjust molding processes to ensure quality and efficient production.
- Troubleshoot molding defects such as flash, short shots, discoloration, and deformation.
- Conduct quality inspections and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce scrap.
- Create and maintain setup procedures and work instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting plastic manufacturing equipment.
- Injection molding experience preferred, blow molding/thermoforming experience invited to apply.
- Knowledge of mold changeovers, process optimization, and quality inspections.
- Experience with Arburg machines, robotics, or automation is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
