Mechanical Assembler

Hands-on assembly role building custom-engineered electrical power equipment in Addison, IL. $23 to $27/hr experience preferred, not required.

Our client is a long-established manufacturer of custom-engineered low and medium voltage electrical products and controls, and they're adding a Mechanical Assembler to their production team in Addison, Illinois. You'll take blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions and turn them into finished equipment that powers industries nationwide.

If you're detail-oriented, good with your hands, and take pride in getting it right the first time, this is a place where that mindset is valued. Prior assembly or manufacturing experience helps, but it isn't required.

Plenty of assembly jobs have you repeating one simple task on a line. Here, the products are custom-engineered, which means reading real technical drawings, working with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machinery, and watching a finished piece of electrical equipment come together. • Build mechanical and electronic components into finished products by following assembly instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and efficiently to get every assembly right.
• Catch problems early by inspecting parts and components for defects before they go into a build.
• Make sure every finished product meets quality standards, running checks and making adjustments where needed.
• Keep yourself and your team safe by following safety protocols and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
• Help the team hit daily, weekly, and monthly production targets and deadlines.
• Keep work flowing smoothly by communicating with teammates and supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area with tools and materials properly stored.
• Complete assembly reports, quality checklists, and production logs accurately.
• Spot and report mechanical, technical, or operational issues during the assembly process.

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or technical instructions.
• The physical stamina to lift heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity, with a real focus on quality and precision.
• Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot minor issues with parts or tools.
• A team-player mindset and the ability to work collaboratively.
• Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and machinery, and wearing PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, or ear protection as required.
• Prior assembly or manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

Pay range: $23 to $27 per hour.
