Pastor - St. Olaf; Montgomery, IL

St. Olaf Lutheran Church (), a part of the Association of Free Lutheran Church, is seeking a full‑time pastor.

We are looking for a next generation lead for this historic church community. The pastor will preach, minister and lead a congregation in alignment with the church’s faith and tradition.

The ideal candidate will have the experience, skills, and desire to perform the following responsibilities:

• Preach the word of God in its purity in both public and private settings, in accordance with the Scriptures and the church’s accepted faith.
• Live a life in keeping with the sacred ministry of the Gospel, publicly and privately.
• Visit congregants in physical or spiritual distress or those in need of the ministry of Christian love, as and when necessary.
• Earnestly promote the instruction of the youth in the Christian religion.
• Observe and act within the constitution and by‑laws of the congregation.
• Lead and coordinate worship services, including collaboration with the music team, deacons, and other volunteers to provide a united, meaningful service.
• Develop and maintain an ongoing community outreach program in partnership with church members.
• Show leadership and vision to grow church membership through adult and youth participation.
• Officiate all church‑related functions such as weddings, funerals, and other religious ceremonies.

The church will provide a free, roomy parsonage with customary and reasonable utilities. A competitive benefits package will also be offered. St. Olaf is partnering with another Christian service ministry organization to build a new youth facility (gymnasium and classrooms) in 2026, creating realistic growth potential for the congregation.
