Employment DetailsFull Time: 36‑hour work week
Shift: 7:00pm – 7:30am (Nights)
Classroom hours are day shift; precepted shifts may be day or night.
This program is designed for experienced acute‑care nurses who wish to transition into critical‑care nursing. Over 8‑12 weeks, candidates will receive hands‑on training with a critical‑care nurse preceptor and complete 8 weeks of dedicated educational time. Limited spots are available in the Medical‑Surgical ICU and Cardiac‑Neuro ICU.
Job SummaryProvides professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois Professional Registered Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. Employs critical‑thinking skills to assess patients, recognize changes, plan and evaluate care, monitor progress, and document observations. Delegates appropriate tasks to other staff and functions as a team member to achieve unit goals.
Required Education, Licensure, and Experience- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; if an ADN is the highest degree, must graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
- Completion of ECG monitoring course.
- ACLS certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification.
- 2 years of inpatient RN experience.
