Store Team Leader - Retail Merchandising- New Store Opening - Naperville IL

Position Title

Store Team Leader of Merchandising – Year‑round/Full‑time

Drives business results, directs team talent, supports store leadership, and ensures the delivery of L.L.Bean’s legendary customer experience within an outdoor lifestyle concept retail store.

$20.20 to $25.25 hourly (actual rate based on experience, qualifications, and competencies).

• Merchandising:
  Plan maps and execute floor sets by translating Trail Guide and floor sets into compelling merchandise presentations; analyze reports and use business acumen to drive sales decisions; support visual displays, windows, marketing signage, markdowns, and merchandise recovery.
• Customer
  
  Experience:
  
  Model and foster an environment where service is the top priority; drive conversion and sales; analyze trends using Qualtrics, variance reporting, and merch group sales; develop activations and selling efforts; ensure the sales floor is full with regular size audits and fitting room service.
• Training:
  Support and train associates; deliver GUIDE training for new hires and ongoing sessions; assess guide performance; develop and execute store or area training modules; maintain employee‑facing communication, including break room messaging and communication boards.
• Total Store Accountability:
  Aid in achievement of financial measures and area‑specific metrics; serve as key holder and potential opener/closer; prepare daily task responsibilities; recommend staffing adjustments; address employee issues and provide coaching; contribute to peak planning and expense management; ensure compliance with safety policies.
• Health & Safety:
  Follow all safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions; model safe behaviors.

• Associate degree or equivalent, 2+ years of retail experience.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with POS, Word, Excel, and basic social media platforms.
• Ability to build strong partnerships, inspire and motivate others, and maintain a high level of enthusiasm.
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive work environment and customer experience.
• Capability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays; mobility and desire to relocate considered a plus.
