Position Highlights

Position:
Lead Public Safety Officer

Location:

Edward Hospital – Naperville, IL

Hours:

Nights – 6pm – 6am. Days:
Wednesday – Sunday.

Full Time – 40 hours per week.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.89 – $28.84 (determined by experience and expertise).

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills needed to provide care appropriate to patient age, including physical and psychological needs.
  • In the absence of the Shift Supervisor, coordinates the work of assigned department staff and determines daily work post assignments.
  • Assists Shift Supervisor to train and orient newly hired Security Officers.
  • Monitors Security Officers in performance of duties and provides ongoing direction.
  • Decides when an incident requires written report, which form to use, and submits to Supervisor, Public Safety.
  • Prepares other written reports as directed.
  • Assists Shift Supervisor to coordinate interviews for investigations with employees and law enforcement agencies.
  • Briefs incoming Lead Officer regarding any reports and pertinent information.
  • Performs duties of Public Safety Officer.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a customer-focused service-based organization.
  • Fundamental understanding of computers, loss prevention and fire/security technology.
  • Basic level of microcomputer software (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.).
  • Valid Illinois Firearm Owner’s Identification Card within 90 days of start date.
  • Valid CPR certification issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross within 90 days of start date.
  • Valid driver’s license; if personal vehicle used, maintain automobile liability coverage and evidence of coverage.
  • CPR (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within six months of hire.
  • Certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) for Basic Healthcare Security Officer training course within twelve months of start date (preferred).
  • Supervisor Healthcare Security Officer Certification (preferred).
