Position Overview
This position involves substantial responsibility and requires an employee with demonstrated knowledge and skill to perform duties with minimal supervision. The employee will be responsible for the administration of daily 9-1-1 operations and communications.
This is a part-time position that may involve special activities and unscheduled duties. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation to report to work on short notice. The role requires the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, perform under stress, maintain confidentiality, and possess a strong working knowledge of 9-1-1 policies and procedures as outlined by the St.
Clair County Emergency Telephone Systems Board. Typing ability is also required.
Applicants must be US citizens and residents of St. Clair County, or establish residency within six months of hire. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a preference for post-secondary education. The position reports to the Telecommunications Supervisor(s) and is covered under a collective bargaining agreement (union).
