Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Bensenville, IL

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of laser welding equipment used in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

This position is ideal for a highly skilled industrial electrical professional with experience troubleshooting complex manufacturing equipment. While experience with industrial laser systems is highly desirable, candidates with strong electrical maintenance backgrounds and the aptitude to learn laser technology are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will work closely with production, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to maximize equipment reliability, maintain laser quality, and minimize production downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues on manufacturing equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on laser welding equipment and supporting systems
  • Maintain laser quality and production consistency
  • Diagnose and repair high-voltage electrical systems and industrial controls
  • Support cooling systems, compressed air systems, exhaust systems, and other auxiliary equipment
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities
  • Install and implement equipment improvements and system upgrades
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation
  • Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and uptime

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance or industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
  • High-voltage electrical systems experience
  • Heavy power distribution knowledge
  • Circuit board troubleshooting
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience
  • Experience with computer-controlled manufacturing equipment
  • Knowledge of chilled water, compressed air, and exhaust systems
  • Strong preventive maintenance background
  • Commitment to workplace safety and lockout/tagout procedures

Preferred Experience

Experience with one or more of the following is highly desirable:

  • Industrial laser systems
  • CO2 laser equipment
  • Fiber laser equipment
  • PRC laser systems
  • CNC machine tools
  • Automated manufacturing equipment
  • PLC-controlled machinery
  • Robotics and automation
  • Packaging equipment
  • Field service engineering

Experience with CO2 or PRC laser systems is preferred but not required. Candidates with exceptional industrial electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to learn laser technology are strongly encouraged to apply.
