A Water Leak Field Technician specializes in locating underground water leaks through survey and detection techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Perform leak surveys using acoustic detection equipment and GIS mapping to identify leak locations.
- Interpret survey results and problem-solve based on distribution system knowledge.
- Set safety barricades and signs to protect work areas with minimal traffic disruption.
- Utilize advanced technology such as computerized correlation, ground microphones, and line locators to pinpoint leaks.
- Update system maps and verify leak locations with survey data.
- Generate detailed reports on leak type, location, severity, and water loss using data collection software.
- Valid driver’s license for vehicle operation.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- OSHA-10 certification with a safety focus.
- Flagger certification and experience with night work.
- Prior leak detection or related field experience.
