Psychiatric Care Supervisor

Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC) is recruiting for a Psychiatric Care Supervisor (PCS). This position is primarily assigned to work 2nd shift (2:00pm to 10:30pm) Monday through Friday. Additionally, this position will be scheduled to work approximately 11 weekends a year. The weekend shift will have the potential to cover 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift.

As the PCS, you will be responsible for providing leadership to Psychiatric Care Technicians-Advanced and other staff and will manage the operations, safety and security of the facility, units, and areas. This position is critical in creating a welcoming and respectful environment for all cultural backgrounds and all aspects of diversity and promoting wellness for all staff and residents.

• Developing, implementing, and applying resident treatment plans, policies, and practices within the facility.
• Identifying and addressing security issues, and planning interventions that are consistent with the treatment needs identified in the Treatment Learning Plan, unit and institution mission statement.
• Ensuring the maintenance of a safe, secure environment.
• Assuming a leadership role in crisis situations ensuring that staff, resident health, and safety and security needs are met.
• Scheduling staff members, receiving incoming sick calls, and coordinating institution coverage as necessary.

The starting pay is between $47.68 and $51.36 per hour (approximately between $99,100 and $106,800 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. Hours worked between 6:00pm to 6:00am will receive an $0.80 add-on per hour and employees who work weekend hours will receive an $0.80 add-on per hour for hours worked. A 12-month probationary period is required.
