Truck Driver - Hiker​/Vehicle Transporter​/CDL - Part Time

Position Summary:

Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This position is responsible for vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations and Penske customers. Primarily, this position moves our box trucks up to 26’ and, for CDL Class A, will include tractors and trailer movement. Position may also provide assistance to the service department to deliver parts and equipment.

This is a part‑time truck driving job that is perfect for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income and looking to work anywhere from 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.

Class A - $19.50 Class B - $18.50

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to the destination of Penske or customer locations
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, and report any issues to the location manager
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
• Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by a supervisor
• Maintain a current driver qualification file, including annual MVR checks, DOT physical, Safety Performance History records, and drug screening as required

• Minimum 2 years of driving experience
• Minimum 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record
• Valid Class B CDL required; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
• CDL Class A license preferred
• Ability to read and follow written instructions
• Ability to work independently, customer‑service oriented, organized, and positive attitude
• English language proficiency required (in compliance with 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2))
• Regular, predictable, full attendance essential
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete required background, employment, education and criminal history investigation, and drug screening

• Must see and hear, with requirements for close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment
• Must move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with arms, and regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
• Must legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area
