Warehouse Associate​/Palletizer

Job Description

URESTAFF is immediately hiring Warehouse Associates (Cargo) for a large, well-known client near the O'Hare airport. Position entails receiving, storing, breaking down, and distributing freight.

Positions start ASAP! 2nd shift is 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM ($18/HR) and 3rd shift is 11 PM - 7:30 AM ($19/HR). OT is available as well.

• Reads air-waybill, and freight manifests to determine the items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys freight from receiving areas to storage or designated areas.
• Sorts and places cargo or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as consignee, destination, or nature of goods.
• Prepares inbound cargo for transfer to be delivered to other air carriers.
• Review all documentation for errors before any transfers or cargo deliveries are made.
• Accepts inbound cargo and must be able to count, inspect, and report any discrepancies.
• Accepts dangerous goods cargo for transport (for DG-certified accepting agents only).
• Accept outbound cargo and must be able to weigh, count, and dim each cargo received.
• Inspect any special handling requirements to ensure specific operational and safety will be applied (ex: Oversized Cargo, DG, Perishables).
• Performs cargo breakdown and/or build-up, freight to and/or from skids, pallets, or containers.
• Ensures that work areas are clean, garbage disposed of daily, and hazard-free of loose nets, straps, etc.
• Work closely with Yuejie Manager's and Supervisor's, OP’s and Customer Service.
• Must practice all company’s policies but not limited to equipment operation, and obeying safety standards when driving motorized vehicles. (Forklift operation for properly trained personnel only).
• Scheduled work hours are strictly followed. Some adjustments may vary according to changes in cargo schedules and operational needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in Warehouse or Air Cargo Transportation.
• Must have a valid Gov.  driver’s license with no major violations
• Must pass all pre-employment verification, including a background check and legal status in the U.S.
• Ability to read and understand cargo documents, labels, and tags.
• Logistics Industry experienced a plus.
