The Leasing Assistant supports the leasing and operations teams by assisting with day-to-day leasing activities, tenant communications, application processing, and administrative coordination. This role plays a key part in creating a positive first impression for prospective residents while ensuring leasing processes are accurate, timely, and compliant with Fair Housing regulations.

The Leasing Assistant works closely with the Leasing Coordinator, field team, and maintenance department to support successful move-ins, renewals, and ongoing resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities Leasing & Resident Support
  • Respond to leasing inquiries via phone, email, text, and online platforms
  • Schedule and coordinate property showings
  • Assist with application intake, screening, and status updates
  • Prepare lease documents and supporting addenda for review and signature
  • Support move-in and move-out coordination, including key handoffs and documentation
  • Answer general tenant questions and route requests to appropriate departments
Administrative & Coordination
  • Maintain accurate leasing records in property management software
  • Assist with listing updates, marketing coordination, and availability tracking
  • Support lease renewals, change-of-term agreements, and compliance tracking
  • Communicate unit readiness updates between leasing, field, and maintenance teams
  • Help ensure leasing files are complete, organized, and audit-ready
Compliance & Professional Standards
  • Follow Fair Housing laws and company policies at all times
  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant and tenant information
  • Represent the company professionally in all resident and client interactions
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (currently enrolled acceptable)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
  • Typing speed of at least 35 WPM
  • Dependable, professional, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and auto insurance
  • Ability to pass a background check
