South Ogden City is looking for a part-time IT Support Specialist to help keep City technology running smoothly.
This is a part-time position with flexible hours and would be a great opportunity for a college student pursuing a degree in IT, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field who wants to gain hands‑on experience while attending school.
Municipal IT provides exposure to a wide variety of technology and operations. One day you may be troubleshooting an employee's workstation, and the next you may be assisting with public‑safety technology, network connectivity, or a Citywide IT project.
With part‑time, flexible hours, this position is especially well suited for a college student looking to build practical IT experience while continuing their education.
What you'll do- Provide first‑line technical support to City employees
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Install and maintain computers, workstations, and peripheral equipment
- Support City applications, email systems, MDTs, and public‑safety technology
- Assist with network connectivity and City IT projects
- Work with City staff and third‑party IT professionals to resolve technical issues
- A high school diploma or equivalent and be pursuing education in a related field
- Approximately one year of related IT experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic knowledge of computers, hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A valid Utah driver's license
- Ability to pass a BCI background check
Starting hourly rate $24 to $29 depending on experience.
