Seton Hall University seeks adjunct instructors to teach sections of our first-year writing classes. These are composition courses with an emphasis on rhetorical analysis.
Course categories:
English 1201 – a composition course with a rhetorical focus, stressing textual and visual analysis.
English 1202 – an academic writing course focused on literature.
Candidates must have experience teaching composition in a college or university setting and, at minimum, an MA in a related field.
Responsibilities- Teach 1–2 classes per semester; classes meet 2–3 times a week.
- Hold office hours and grade/review assignments.
- Attend orientation and meetings with the first-year writing director.
- MA in a related field.
- Experience teaching composition in a college or university setting.
- PhD in a related field.
- Minimum pay: $1,200 per credit for those without a terminal degree.
- Pay: $1,300 per credit for those with a terminal degree.
