The PositionSeeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly skilled Special Education Teacher to work with middle school students with Emotional Regulation Impairment. The ideal candidate will provide specialized, data-driven instruction to students with significant emotional regulation and behavioral needs, helping them access the general education curriculum in a supportive environment.
Qualifications- New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities certificate and vital middle school certification.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies for students with emotional regulation impairments.
- Teaching experience with special needs students preferred.
- Proven experience working with children with behavioral and emotional needs (preferred).
- Strong behavior management skills and ability to maintain a positive classroom climate.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.
Starting Salary Range:
- Bachelor's Degree: $70,000 - $100,315
- Master's Degree: $77,450 - $109,865
- Master's + 30 Credits: $81,565 - $115,450
- Doctorate: $84,565 - $118,450

Position Title: Teacher
Minimum Qualifications:
- New Jersey Instructional Certificate or eligibility.
- Teaching experience preferred, but not required.
- Demonstrated knowledge in subject area.
- Familiarity with use of technology as an instructional tool.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Required criminal history background check.
- Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.
Reports To: Principal
Job Goal(s): To provide instructional leadership in the classroom in accordance with the course of study approved by the Board of Education approved curriculum.
Primary Responsibilities- Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.
- Employs instructional methods and available materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Assesses the performance of students on a continuing basis and provides progress reports as required.
- Identifies students who require additional support services.
- Communicates with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Maintains high expectations for student performance and behavior.
- Engages in professional development activities, which enhances instructional practices.
- Participates in appropriate building and district meetings.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Uses technology for communication purposes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Working Relationships of the Position: To maintain effective relationships with teachers, students, parents, administrators, and appropriate community groups.
Terms of Employment: 10 Months. Salary as per SOMEA Agreement.
