Description:
The Engineering Manager is highly organized, hands-on, technically skilled, and will lead and design new Engineered to Order and Standard Products. Streamline design processes and create/revise detailed technical product information. As part of the management team, the Engineering Manager assists with the creation and execution of the strategic plan. The Engineering Manager represents the company’s high ethical standards and presents a professional image in every business interaction.
- Lead, manage, and develop engineering team
- Act as Lead Engineer on critical projects
- Calculate cost and time estimates for proposed work and monitor progress until project completion
- Coordinate schedules with other departments as necessary
- Create complete custom mechanical system designs to meet requirements
- Design Valve Systems to meet current industry standards and customer requirements
- Develop and maintain an expert level of product knowledge, become the subject matter expert of the department
- Document design-related decisions, meetings and instructions and report accordingly
- Perform ASME VIII calculations for pressure vessels
- Provide technical support to customers
- Research commercially available equipment to specify equipment needed for projects
- Ability to accurately interpret and present information in a consistent and organized manner
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team in a multi-concurrent project environment
- Ability to positively respond to change and accommodate new methods and procedures
- Ability to understand and execute technical instructions
- Ability to incorporate specific customer requirements into custom designs
- Effective verbal communication skills, both in-person and via the telephone
- Intermediate to Expert Proficiency with Solid Works and PDM
- Knowledge of INFOR Visual Manufacturing or similar ERP software
- Possess the organizational skills necessary to meet critical deadlines
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience, particularly with fabricated mechanical equipment, boiler and/or process valves and integration of electrical components
- Proficiency with ASME code for pressure vessels (VIII) and piping (B31.3)
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- 5 years of experience
