This is a full-time, on-site Financial Advisor role based in South Plainfield, NJ. The Financial Advisor will meet with clients to assess their financial goals, analyze their current financial situation, and recommend appropriate solutions such as insurance, investments, and retirement strategies. Responsibilities include preparing customized financial plans, explaining product features and risks, and maintaining ongoing relationships through regular reviews and follow-ups.
The role involves prospecting and networking to build a client base, collaborating with internal teams and representatives, and staying current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and Primerica’s products and services. The Financial Advisor is expected to document all client interactions accurately, uphold ethical standards, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Strong client-facing skills, including active listening, clear communication, and the ability to explain complex financial concepts in accessible language.
- Analytical and planning abilities, such as assessing financial needs, developing strategies, and reviewing investment and insurance options for suitability.
- Sales and relationship-building skills, including prospecting, networking, and maintaining long-term client relationships with a focus on trust and service.
- Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple client cases, follow-up activities, and compliance requirements efficiently.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of personal finance topics (insurance, investments, retirement, debt management); willingness to pursue continuous learning and professional development.
- Relevant licenses (such as state life insurance license and applicable securities registrations) or the ability and motivation to obtain them within a defined timeframe.
- Proficiency with standard office software and digital tools for financial analysis, documentation, and client communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field is beneficial, though equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct, regulatory compliance, and providing inclusive, non-discriminatory service to diverse clients.
