CNC Machinist, Manufacturing Engineer
Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer / Setup Technician to join a precision machining company serving the aerospace, defense, and medical device industries.
This is a hands-on role responsible for independently setting up, programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC lathes while producing high-precision components with tight tolerances.
Compensation$90,000 – $130,000+ DOE
Responsibilities- Program and set up CNC lathes for production and prototype work
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machining methods
- Troubleshoot quality and machining issues
- Improve setup efficiency and cycle times
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams
- 7+ years of CNC Lathe setup and programming experience
- Experience machining aerospace, defense, medical, or other precision components
- Strong ability to:
- Set up CNC lathes
- Create and edit CNC programs
- Troubleshoot machining issues
- Optimize cycle times and processes
- Ability to read blueprints and GD&T
- Experience holding tight tolerances (±0.0005" or better)
- Haas and Okuma CNC Lathes
- Mastercam Lathe or Mill-Turn
- Live Tooling, Y-Axis, and Mill-Turn machines
- First Article Inspections and precision measuring equipment
- CAD experience (Solid Works, Fusion 360, AutoCAD)
