Zina's Fine Foods, South Plainfield NJ. Two full time openings, immediate start.

First shift $22 per hour. Second shift $24 per hour.

The Batch Maker prepares complete recipes accurately and makes sure every product is properly mixed and ready for packaging. It is one of the most important jobs in the plant, because everything downstream depends on the batch being right.

• Work from the daily production schedule and the batch sheet for each recipe.
• Gather and verify every ingredient the recipe calls for.
• Weigh and measure ingredients accurately on production scales.
• Follow the recipe exactly, in the right order, for the required mixing time.
• Operate mixers and related kitchen equipment safely.
• Watch the appearance, consistency, temperature and yield of every batch.
• Make sure nothing is left out, substituted or added twice.
• Record lot numbers, quantities, temperatures and batch yields.
• Tell the supervisor right away about a missing ingredient, a wrong weight, a quality concern or anything that does not match the recipe.
• Move finished batches to packaging and talk clearly with the packaging team.
• Follow allergen controls and prevent cross contact between products.
• Keep scales, utensils, mixers, containers and your work area clean.
• Follow all GMP, sanitation, food safety and workplace safety rules.

• At least two years of experience in food production, a commercial kitchen, catering, bakery production or recipe preparation.
• Able to read and follow recipes and batch sheets.
• Comfortable with weights, measures and basic arithmetic.
• Attention to detail, and the judgment to notice when something is wrong.
• Able to use production scales and learn mixing equipment.
• Reliable attendance and able to work on your own.
• Comfortable working around food production machinery.
• Able to stand for most of the shift and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Spanish or English. Knowing both is a plus.
• Food handling or food safety certification preferred, not required.

First shift $22 per hour. Second shift $24 per hour.

Overtime paid according to applicable law.

Five paid days off per year.

401(k) with company match. The company pays 100% of the first 1% you put in, then 50% of the next 5%. You are enrolled automatically at 3% of your pay once you are 21 and have six months of service. The company match becomes fully yours after two years.
