Pay and Bonuses
  • Hourly Pay: $36.00 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, Weekends OFF
  • Hours:

    Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tool knowledge, required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems, required
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • All other certifications as required by location, required
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑ and medium‑duty equipment
  • Computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance, complex mechanical and electronic problem diagnostics using diagnostic computers
  • Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints and assign tasks
  • Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Comply with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Act as a mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels
  • Access and use internal and external maintenance documents
  • Other support duties to support operations, including Service Island support
  • SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT
    220)
  • Complete two of the OEM On‑Line diagnostic scan‑tool software courses within 365 days, as required by location and fleet mix
