Travel RNFA - First Assist RN Registered Nurse

Position Overview

Travel RNFA – First Assist RN Registered Nurse – South Portland, ME.

Contract assignment – 13 weeks (temporary). Shift: 4x12 days. Pay depends on location and experience. 401(k) matching. New licensing reimbursement.

• Assist surgeon in general and specialized surgeries
• Prepare patients for surgery
• Provide patient care and support
• Administer medications
• Practice surgical procedures such as controlling bleeding and suturing incisions, draping, providing exposure, and handling tissue
• Prepare all necessary supplies
• Position and prepare the patient on the operating table
• Monitor the patient’s vital signs and heart rate
• Educate patient and family on operation and aftercare
• Perform post‑operative assessments and monitoring
• Perform CPR or emergency measures if required
• All other responsibilities as needed

• Current AHA Basic Life Support certification for Health Care Providers
• BSN from an accredited nursing program and proper licensure
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families
• Certification as a First Assist RN, certification in perioperative nursing
• Operating room experience required
• At least 2 years of experience
