Float Residential Nurse

Pay range: $33 - $39/hour. Final salary is determined by the candidate's relevant education, training, and work experience.

The Float Residential Nurse position contributes to the accomplishment of the Agency's mission through the evaluation of medication management practices, other pertinent health education programming, direct care of client medical needs as appropriate to the scope of a RN, LPN, care coordination of physical health needs with medical providers, as well as the shared oversight of the health and well-being of clients within Residential Treatment Services.

The Float Residential Nurse is a member of the Adult Residential Treatment Team. Residential Treatment serves adults living with serious and persistent mental illness, substance misuse, and may be experiencing homelessness. The Float Residential Nurse will work under the supervision of the Nursing Director and will partner closely with the Program Director of a specific residential treatment program to achieve positive program and client outcomes.

The Float Residential Nurse will work within an interdisciplinary team approach to support integrated health outcomes for clients in residential treatment for serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance misuse. Float The Residential Nurse will utilize the recovery oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach to care.

Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Vice President of Residential Programs and the Vice President of Continuous Quality Improvement (with support of Consulting Psychiatric Director as needed).

Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week, hourly position. Monday - Friday, with some flexibility for hybrid schedule.

Location:

Office is located in South Portland and position supports programs in Portland and South Portland, ME.

Qualifications:

  • LPN or RN nurse holding a valid license to practice nursing in the State of Maine, and license must be in good standing are required; with two (2) to four (4) years of experience required, with one of those years being in clinical practice in mental health nursing.
  • Previous training experience in care coordination and/or integrated care is preferred.
  • Experience with in the Mental Health and Substance Use delivery system and/or direct service is preferred.
  • Experience in the education and clinical care of clients with diabetes is a plus.
  • Advanced computer skills in programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Experience in team or multidisciplinary approach to service planning is preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
  • Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
  • Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
