As a Software Engineer on the WEX Technology team, you will work in a team that partners closely with Product Managers and customers to learn about the challenges employers face while navigating the competitive business landscape. You will design solutions that solve problems in ways our customers love and work for our business. You will build the highest quality software in the latest technologies and test-driven development practices.

WEXpedition, our 18-month Engineering Development Program, focuses on providing future WEXpeditors with critical software engineering experience and business knowledge. The program includes robust assignments and mentorship, and offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across a range of Software Engineering functions. Participants will develop a versatile skill set, build a strong network, and cultivate a comprehensive understanding of our dynamic business.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to learn about our customers biggest challenges.
• Collaborate closely with Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to design, build, and iterate on world-class product experiences, defining product scope and design.
• Measure, inspect, and drive decisions using data.
• Ownership for the entirety of your features; including API design, implementation, automated testing, and rollout.
• Hold yourself, and your teammates accountable to the standards of engineering and ethics that enables WEX to safely move billions of dollars in payments and allow our customers to trust us with their sensitive data.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure Dev Ops or Git Hub Actions.
• Build high availability and resilient systems which can scale quickly.
• Strengthen and drive our engineering process with TDD and BDD, Microservice and Vertical Slice Architectures.
• Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps, make effective technical trade-offs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.
