Job Objective

The Adjunct Personal Trainer will design and lead customized one‑on‑one or small group fitness programs as part of the MNTC Wellness Program. This role focuses on helping clients achieve individual health and wellness goals through safe and effective exercise instruction, motivation, and education related to fitness, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle practices. The Person al Trainer creates a welcoming, inclusive environment in which all participants feel supported, successful, and encouraged.

Qualifications
  • Ability to design individualized fitness programs based on assessments, goals, and participant needs
  • Knowledge of proper exercise techniques, cueing, and injury prevention
  • Ability to conduct fitness assessments and basic health consultations
  • Strong communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to educate clients on general nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices within scope of practice
  • Skill in monitoring progress and modifying programs to ensure safe, effective results
  • Professional demeanor and ability to create an inclusive and encouraging environment
  • Ability to lead group fitness or health education classes as needed
  • Ability to follow Wellness Program policies, safety standards, and documentation procedures

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Credentials:
Applicants must hold current, nationally recognized personal training or group fitness certification, such as NSCA, ACE, NETA, ACSM, or NASM.

Experience:

Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing personal training services required.

Additional Information
  • Trainers will assist with light cleaning and care of the Wellness Center and fitness equipment.
  • Responsibilities may include participation in campus wellness events such as the annual health fair and assisting with group fitness or health education programming based on qualifications and program needs.

Work schedule varies based on client needs, can include Monday through Saturday, morning as early as 6 am, lunchtime, and evenings 4:30 pm-7 pm.
