Warehouse Worker
The position of Warehouse Worker is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing product for customer delivery while maintaining a safe and orderly environment. Use of forklift and/or order picker to process orders. Compensation: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour, Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Obtain or pull material to fill pick tickets from storage yard and warehouse, verifying quantities and items against the invoice.
- Load merchandise into the company vehicle.
- Maintain assigned equipment in clean condition and perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance; report defects to supervisor.
- Verify quantity and description of materials received against packing lists and purchase orders.
- Maintain excellent attendance record.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Transport, gather, distribute, and stock material safely and efficiently.
- Keep warehouse organized and orderly at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- General knowledge of warehouse procedures and ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- HVAC experience a plus but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
- Ability to organize and prioritize job tasks.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- At least 18 years old.
Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders and to speak effectively with customers or employees. Proficiency in English.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to interpret documents and instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form and to organize and prioritize job projects.
Attendance DemandsAttendance required Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Overtime may be required.
Physical DemandsThe employee regularly uses hands to grasp, lift, and reach; occasionally sits, climbs, and balances. Must lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 75 pounds occasionally. Requires normal vision, color vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment- Noise level usually loud.
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures; work inside, outside, and on elevated balconies.
