Accountant (Contract - Financial Analysis Focus)

Location:

South San Francisco, CA

Duration: 6 Months (Full-time, Onsite)

Our client in South San Francisco is seeking a skilled contract Accountant with strong financial analysis capabilities to join their team for a 6-month assignment. This role requires onsite presence daily and offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact on financial operations.

Responsibilities:

+ Perform day-to-day accounting duties, including journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close activities

+ Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making for budgets

+ Prepare and review financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls

+ Analyze data for trends, variances, and anomalies to provide insights to management

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting and finance projects

+ Maintain and update accounting records and supporting documentation

+ Assist with process improvements and implementation of accounting best practices

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 3+ years of accounting experience with strong financial analysis skills

+ Expertise in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis)

+

Experience with Eden or Tyler Munis accounting systems is a plus

+ Proven ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

+ Commitment to full onsite work; remote or hybrid options are not available

Preferred:

+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

+ Excellent communication and organizational abilities

+ Contract or temporary project experience
