Position Summary
Senior Payroll/GL Accountant to join our Finance team. Own and manage the payroll process, act as primary contact for payroll and payroll tax matters, and streamline accounting operations. Candidate with experience in ADP Total Source and Net Suite will thrive.
Job Responsibilities Payroll Processing- Own the end‑to‑end semi‑monthly payroll for U.S. employees via ADP Total Source; coordinate payroll for EMEA employees with an international provider.
- Process off‑cycle payroll and taxable event reporting for equity transactions (RSU vesting, stock‑option exercises, ESPP).
- Monitor and resolve payroll tax issues, ensuring accurate withholding, reporting, and compliance across jurisdictions.
- Strengthen internal controls around payroll to maintain SOX compliance.
- Prepare monthly payroll journal entries and detail department/time allocation to distribute payroll cost accurately.
- Reconcile payroll‑related balance sheet accounts and verify accuracy during the monthly period‑end close.
- Review employee expense report coding in Ramp before synchronizing with Net Suite.
- Partner with Finance and HR teams to support payroll and monthly close processes and implement efficiency improvements.
- Support general ledger tasks such as cash journal entries, bank account reconciliations, and other required functions.
- Provide PBC documentation to external auditors for SOX testing, quarterly and annual financial audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with an accounting concentration.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with direct payroll ownership preferred.
- Hands‑on proficiency with ADP Total Source and Net Suite.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations, multi‑state withholding, equity compensation taxation, and year‑end reporting (W‑2, 940, 941).
- Experience with Equity Edge Online and understanding of equity reporting and related payroll tax compliance.
- Proficient in U.S. GAAP and payroll accounting principles; proven support of month‑end close and account reconciliations.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, proactive in identifying process improvements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.
Position based in the San Francisco Bay Area; little to no travel required. Occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or company events.
Compensation & Benefits- Base salary range: $114,000–$140,000.
