Operations Manager, Supply Chain / Intl. Trade
Ohalo™ seeks a highly organized, financially‑oriented, and negotiation‑savvy Director to manage and optimize the entire supply chain supporting general business, biology laboratory, hardware engineering, and greenhouse operations. Essential functions include procurement, production forecasting/planning, inventory management, facilities, logistics, and distribution. The ideal candidate is high‑energy, resourceful, and thrives on negotiating value, managing third‑party providers, and partnering internally. This hands‑on, on‑site role focuses on diverse responsibilities with measured outcomes against cost, performance, and speed.

Responsibilities- Strategy & Vision: Develop and execute long‑term supply chain strategies, defining the vision and roadmap for systems and the department, aligned with business objectives.
- Expert Negotiation: Lead contract and pricing negotiations with all vendors (equipment, lab/greenhouse suppliers, contractors) to secure optimal terms. Relentlessly pursue the best financial outcome.
- Infrastructure Deal‑Making: Support facility expansions and build‑outs by sourcing materials and services from vendors and contractors at the best cost and on accelerated timelines.
- Operational Procurement & Vendor Management: Lead strategic sourcing, establish supply agreements/contracts, and manage end‑to‑end purchasing (sourcing, quotes, POs, delivery) for all needs—from lab supplies to capital projects.
- Finance and Cost Optimization: Monitor spend, identify savings, and partner with finance to maintain lean budgets, manage assets, set and track inventory value.
- Supplier Hustle: Quickly identify, vet, and build strong, flexible relationships with new suppliers and partners.
- Cross‑Functional Execution: Collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure procurement enables rapid progress.
- System Building: Maintain simple, effective tracking for contracts, purchases, and commitments; build planning and demand forecasting. Create systems with tools we have and select commercially available/cost efficient options for the long term.
- Reporting and KPIs Define, set up, and report KPIs for flawless operational execution.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze and refine processes (LEAN, kaizen, Kanban, 5S) to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve sustainability and business continuity.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels and set policies to meet service objectives and minimize supply risks.
- Global Logistics and Distribution: Establish and own global shipping and logistics to ensure safe and compliant worldwide delivery of plants, tissue culture, seed, and materials, partnering with regulatory teams for compliance.
- Technology Implementation: Drive the implementation of new technologies, ERP systems, to improve supply chain functions.
- Facilities Management: Partner with the operations team to ensure building functionality, safety, efficiency, and project completion with technicians and contractors.
- Leadership & Problem‑Solving: Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, delivering results on firm deadlines to support development programs.
- Experience: 10+ years in Supply Chain Management or Business Management/Finance, with proven experience in finance, operations, procurement, vendor management, and facilities expansions. Candidates must be financially‑savvy, highly organized, and possess strong negotiating skills. Experience in agriculture importing/exporting regulations is preferred.
- Leadership: Previous success leading and building Supply Chain teams, processes, and procedures in a fast‑paced organization.
- Negotiation: A natural negotiator driven to secure better outcomes with vendors.
- Skills: Highly adept at organizing and presenting, proficient in Google Workspace.
