Superintendent Position
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations on DSA-regulated, K-12, and public works construction projects from mobilization through closeout. This role leads all jobsite activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements.
Projects are typically focused on public sector facilities such as schools, campuses, and municipal buildings, often delivered through collaborative methods like Lease-Leaseback, Design-Build, and Construction Management. These projects require strong coordination, planning, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily field operations on DSA, K-12, or public works construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and trades to ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and manage jobsite sequencing.
- Ensure all work complies with DSA requirements, project specifications, and building codes.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and documentation required for regulatory compliance.
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety standards.
- Conduct jobsite meetings and maintain clear communication with project teams and stakeholders.
- Review drawings and proactively identify constructability issues and potential conflicts.
- Manage jobsite logistics, material deliveries, and site organization.
- Maintain daily reports, schedules, and project documentation.
- Oversee punch list completion and ensure successful project closeout and turnover.
- 7–15+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a general contractor.
- Strong experience managing DSA, K-12, or public works construction projects.
- Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish (full lifecycle).
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience working with public agencies, inspectors, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on occupied campuses and phased construction projects.
- Familiarity with delivery methods such as Lease-Leaseback, Design-Build, and CM at Risk.
- Knowledge of DSA inspection processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or scheduling software.
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
