Senior Superintendent – Multifamily Construction

Project Type: Ground-Up Multifamily, Mixed-Use, and Podium Construction

A leading Bay Area general contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead large-scale multifamily developments in South San Francisco. This individual will serve as the primary field leader on projects valued at $100M+, overseeing all onsite operations from mobilization through turnover.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience delivering complex ground-up multifamily and mixed-use developments, including podium, wrap, and mid-rise construction, and possesses the leadership skills necessary to manage large field teams, multiple subcontractors, and aggressive project schedules.

Field Leadership & Project Execution

• Lead all onsite construction activities for multifamily projects exceeding $100M.
• Direct Assistant Superintendents, field engineers, and trade partners throughout all phases of construction.
• Develop and implement site logistics, sequencing plans, and construction strategies.
• Maintain accountability for project schedule, productivity, and overall field performance.

Schedule & Production Management

• Develop and maintain short-interval schedules and look-ahead plans.
• Coordinate multiple trades to maintain milestone dates and project objectives.
• Identify potential schedule impacts and implement recovery plans as needed.
• Drive production while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Quality & Safety Leadership

• Promote and enforce a proactive safety culture across the jobsite.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality reviews.
• Ensure all work complies with plans, specifications, and company standards.
• Oversee punch list activities, turnover, and project closeout.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination

• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, ownership teams, architects, and consultants.
• Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and daily field planning sessions.
• Serve as the primary field contact for owners and project stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop Assistant Superintendents and emerging field leaders.

• 10+ years of experience managing large-scale multifamily construction projects.
• Proven experience as the lead Superintendent on projects valued at $100M or greater
  .
• Strong background in podium, wrap, mid-rise, or mixed-use residential construction.
• Experience managing large field teams and numerous subcontractors simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and scheduling software
