The Estimator is responsible for preparing timely, accurate bid estimates for mid-size construction projects or programs within an assigned line of business, region, or division. This role supports project planning by evaluating labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor requirements to ensure efficient execution within contract terms, schedule constraints, and company standards.

The Estimator develops a working knowledge of construction estimating and cost control principles while ensuring compliance with the company and adhering to established safety and quality management protocols.

• Prepare and maintain complete bid estimates and supporting documentation under general supervision.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and contract requirements to develop accurate pricing.
• Utilize historical project data, subcontractor pricing, and productivity analysis to support estimating decisions.
• Assist in planning project staffing, equipment usage, materials, and subcontractor resources.
• Support field personnel with scope clarification and assist in developing change order recommendations as needed.
• Conduct job site visits, as required, to verify site conditions and project constraints.
• Ensure bid submissions meet customer requirements, presentation standards, and established deadlines.
• Assist in the development and implementation of estimating guidelines and best practices.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Interface with internal teams and external stakeholders on planning, scheduling, reporting, and progress-related matters.
• Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and leadership while supporting estimating and planning functions.

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in construction estimating with the ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and specifications.
• Understanding conceptual, lump sum, and unit price estimating methods.
• Working knowledge of construction practices and applicable industry standards.
• Proficiency in computerized estimating and bidding software.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Completion of H&M Project Management Methodology (PMM) training and introductory project management coursework.
• Ability to solve moderately complex problems with guidance and collaboration.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant construction estimating or related experience.

Salary Range: $90,000/yr to $130,000/yr (will be dependent upon level of experience)
