Informatics Specialist

Development Sciences Informatics is seeking a talented and experienced Informatician to lead application support efforts. Development Sciences (Dev Sci) is a translational science organization that plays a critical role in Genentech Research and Early Development as well as late stage development of our products Sci supports drug discovery and development projects across all therapeutic areas from discovery to launch and beyond.

We are poised at a unique time when large volumes of complex and varied internal and external data needs to be readily accessible to ensure that swift interpretation and decision making can occur. These data impact decisions in ongoing preclinical and clinical programs, and provide key knowledge to inform new target discovery. Dev Sci Informatics is accountable for leading the strategy and execution around data lifecycle management, data standards, analytics infrastructure, ongoing data operations and informatics systems.

Major Responsibilities:

• Application expert for a Pharmaceutical Assay Registration System
• Troubleshoot and resolve end user support issues
• Enhance support model and manage support tickets in Service Now
• Develop system documentation, user manuals, training decks, confluence pages and other documentation necessary to support application
• Conduct trainings and user group meetings for supported application
• Administration activities in assay registration application
• Gather feedback from application end users and integrate into requirement backlog
• Communicate to end users about application updates and new feature rollouts

Competencies and

Qualifications:

• Can independently manage activities associated with application support
• Experience with Service Now, Confluence, gSheets, Jira, Smartsheets
• Experience with software development life cycles, agile methodologies and Dev Ops
• Working knowledge of scientific research application development cycles and data management principles
• Strong team player skills
• Excellent people and communication skills.
• Experience with Assay Registration Systems or similar class of scientific software
• Scientific degree with 5 or more years of relevant experience. Advanced degree is a plus.
