The Position
2026 Summer Intern - Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology
Department Summary
The department of Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology operates at the very early stages of drug discovery and development. We discover and characterize the compounds that will ultimately become the drugs of the future.
This internship position is located in South San Francisco, On - Site.
The Opportunity
- Pursue a deeper understanding of drug mechanism of action.
- Design & perform quantitative cell-based, biochemical, & biophysical assays.
- Use bespoke analysis to draw conclusions about molecular behavior that isn't directly observable.
- Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.
- Program start dates are in May/June 2026.
- A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
- Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.
- Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.
Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student).
- Must be pursuing a PhD (enrolled student).
Required Skills:
- Basic bench skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Complements our culture and the standards that guide our daily behavior & decisions:
Integrity, Courage, and Passion. - Experience with fluorescence imaging and cell culture is a plus.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $26.00 - $46.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
