Research Scientist, Biomedical Science
At Lyterian Therapeutics, we are committed to developing medicines for patients in need by co‑opting physiologically‑relevant protein homeostatic mechanisms to regulate genetically‑validated targets.
Position SummaryAs Scientist, Biology you will design, execute, interpret, and troubleshoot cellular screening assays supporting our protein degradation drug discovery platform. You will contribute to target characterization and mechanism of action studies supporting our early‑stage research and discovery programs. By collaborating closely with protein biochemists, biophysicists, and molecular biologists, you will uncover fundamental biology behind targeted regulation of protein homeostasis.
Impact You'll Make- Design and execute cellular experiments to address scientific questions to progress our programs and contribute to key milestones
- Design, optimize, and run medium to high‑throughput cellular screening assays
- Summarize experimental findings and present data clearly and effectively at internal team meetings and external conferences
- Create, maintain, and use a variety of cell lines.
- Use automation, high‑content microscopy, and/or flow cytometry to develop our proprietary platform
- Collaborate and communicate across a diverse scientific team to successfully progress Lyterian goals
- Relevant PhD with 0‑2 years relevant industry experience;
Experience may include postdoc;
Experience may be substituted for education. - Demonstrated expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques including transfection and transient or stable expression of recombinant proteins, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, plasmid design, siRNA and shRNA knockdown
- Experience running assays on automated liquid handlers (Bravo, ep Motion, Tecan, etc.)
- Experience culturing with sterile technique and maintaining high‑throughput cell culture assays
- Experience with fluorescence and luminescence detection platforms and high‑content microscopy is preferred
- Experience with high‑throughput data analysis and workflows is a plus
- Familiarity with CRISPR‑based screening or genome editing techniques and prior experience in these areas is plus
- Experience with molecular biology techniques including but not limited to: in vitro enzymatic assays, IP assays, qPCR, western blots, FACS, IHC, ELISA, HTRF is a plus
- Ability to keep detailed and organized records of experimental protocols and results
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, communicate clearly, work within departmental groups, and to build open and collaborative relationships
- Initiative and boldness to dive into a fast‑paced new startup
$125,000 - $140,000 a year

Compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications, internal equity and location.
