- We are seeking a motivated scientist interested in using structural biology to understand the molecular mechanisms of large macromolecular complexes involved in DNA repair processes.
- The role involves protein purification, reconstitution, and structure determination of DNA-protein complexes using cryoEM.
- Additionally, you will help to develop functional biochemical assays to assess and determine the mechanism of action of various multi-subunit protein complexes.
- You will be highly encouraged to think deeply about the biological problem, make significant intellectual contributions to the chosen research project, and work closely with other team members.
- It is an exceptional opportunity to pursue basic and drug-discovery questions in a well-resourced biotechnology environment.
- BS/MS degree with 3-5 years of experience or a PhD with 0-2 years of experience in Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Structural Biology, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience designing and optimizing the purification of challenging protein targets (including protein complexes) for structural and/or functional studies.
- Development of functional biochemical and biophysical assays.
- Experience in cryoEM sample and grid preparation (beneficial qualification).
- Experience with mammalian cell culture functional assays (beneficial qualification)
