Our client is seeking a talented Protein Biochemistry Scientist to join a multidisciplinary Research team focused on advancing a novel prokaryotic protein expression platform. This role will support strain engineering efforts through protein expression optimization, fermentation studies, and protein characterization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize protein expression platforms
- Evaluate strains for growth, protein expression, and product quality
- Perform small-scale fermentation and bioreactor studies
- Conduct media optimization and mid-stream processing activities
- Support strain banking and process development activities
- Perform protein characterization using techniques such as SDS-PAGE and Western blotting
- Collaborate with cross-functional research teams and present findings
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline preferred
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with small-scale bioreactors
- Experience with recombinant protein expression and fermentation
- Strong protein analytical skills
- Experience with antibodies or antibody fragments is a plus
