Research Scientist
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to support biologics discovery and antibody engineering programs within a large enterprise environment. The successful candidate will design and execute laboratory studies focused on identifying and optimizing therapeutic antibody candidates using advanced in vitro discovery technologies. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross functional scientific teams while generating high quality experimental data that supports early stage drug discovery.
The ideal candidate will possess strong molecular biology expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to present scientific findings to technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute in vitro antibody discovery experiments using display technologies.
- Perform antibody screening and optimization to identify lead therapeutic candidates.
- Conduct binding assays including ELISA, Flow Cytometry, and SPR.
- Perform molecular cloning, sequence analysis, and microbial culture experiments.
- Maintain mammalian cell culture and support biologics discovery workflows.
- Analyze experimental data and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to generate proof of concept data.
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and ensure high quality scientific records.
- Present research findings during project meetings and scientific discussions.
- Support continuous improvement of antibody discovery and engineering processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Biology or a related scientific discipline with 5 or more years of pharmaceutical or research experience or Master of Science in Biology or a related field with 2 or more years of relevant experience.
- Hands on experience with in vitro antibody discovery display technologies including phage display or yeast display.
- Direct experience performing binding assays including ELISA, Flow Cytometry or SPR.
- Strong molecular biology and cell biology skills including molecular cloning sequence analysis E coli culture yeast culture and mammalian cell culture.
- Knowledge of protein structure antibody affinity antibodies and antibody fragments.
- Strong analytical documentation and scientific presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office including Excel PowerPoint and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with antibody engineering and optimization.
- Experience with affinity modulation liability engineering or antibody humanization.
- Experience designing and constructing antibody libraries.
- Experience with multiplex Flow Cytometry.
- Experience automating biologics discovery workflows.
- Experience using Prism Geneious or Genedata.
- Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary research teams.
