We are seeking a Research Associate II with hands‑on experience supporting small animal in vivo studies in a laboratory research environment. This role will support preclinical studies through animal handling, dosing, monitoring, sample collection, necropsy, tissue/organ collection, and related laboratory activities.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with rodent models
, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to animal welfare, laboratory safety, accurate documentation, and collaborative research.
- Perform hands‑on small animal in vivo procedures
, including animal handling, monitoring, dosing, sampling, necropsy, dissection, and tissue/organ collection. - Administer compounds using common routes including intraperitoneal (IP), subcutaneous (SC), and oral (PO) dosing.
- Monitor animal health, body weight, behavior, and study‑related observations.
- Collect, process, organize, and maintain biological samples and experimental data.
- Maintain accurate study records and communicate study progress and observations to research teams.
- Support laboratory operations including supply ordering, inventory management, equipment/material preparation, cleaning, and autoclaving.
- Follow SOPs, study protocols, biosafety requirements, and animal welfare guidelines.
- Properly handle and dispose of biohazardous and chemical waste.
- Work with infectious and/or hazardous materials while following appropriate PPE and safety procedures.
- Provide occasional weekend or off‑hours coverage based on study requirements.
- BS/MS in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biology, or related field
, with 1+ year of small animal in vivo experience
, or equivalent relevant experience. - Hands‑on experience with rodent models
, including mice and/or rats. - Experience with animal handling, dosing, sampling, necropsy, dissection, and tissue/organ collection.
- Experience with IP, SC, and PO dosing
. - Strong documentation, organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional research teams.
- Commitment to laboratory safety, animal welfare, and ethical research practices.
- Experience with ELISA, flow cytometry, PCR, or other molecular biology techniques
. - Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, preclinical, or regulated research environments.
- Experience with GLP/GMP, IACUC, or other laboratory compliance requirements
. - Experience analyzing experimental data using tools such as Excel, Graph Pad Prism, or similar software.
- Familiarity with bulk RNA‑seq or single‑cell RNA‑seq data is a plus.
