BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Scientist 2 to join our client’s site in South San Francisco, California. This role will support innovative drug discovery and development within the Translational Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (tPKPD) department by developing and applying cutting‑edge in vitro assays that help characterize and optimize the pharmacokinetic properties of therapeutic candidates.
The successful candidate will execute biochemical and cell-based assays and develop and optimize automated assay workflows to support research and development projects. The role also involves interpreting and communicating scientific findings while contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing laboratory environment.
Summary ofDuties and Responsibilities:
- Execute biochemical assays, including enzyme‑linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA), and cell‑based assays.
- Develop and optimize automated assay workflows to support research and development projects.
- Develop and follow assay protocols.
- Analyze and document experimental results.
- Author technical reports.
- Present scientific data and insights to cross‑functional teams.
- Generate high‑quality, reproducible data efficiently while managing multiple project timelines.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of cross‑functional teams.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high‑performing laboratory environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Biological Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related discipline or sub‑discipline.
- Minimum of one year of hands‑on assay development experience in an industry setting.
- Proven experience and expertise with ligand‑binding assays, such as ELISA, and bioanalytical assay development.
- Strong dedication to generating high‑quality, reproducible data efficiently.
- Ability to manage multiple project timelines and work effectively both independently and within cross‑functional teams.
- Hands‑on experience operating and troubleshooting automated assay platforms is highly desired.
- Previous experience with cell‑culture maintenance and passaging is a major plus.
- Prior experience with mass spectrometry, biomolecular interaction platforms such as Octet or Biacore, and other biochemical assay formats.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and task‑prioritization skills.
