RecruitmentTo support our ambitions, we are excited to be recruiting for:
- An Apprentice Electrician (Level 3 – duration 4 – 4½ years)
- An Apprentice Ground Worker (Level 2 – duration up to 2½‑3 years)
- An Apprentice Joiner (Level 2/Level 3 – duration up to 4 years)
- An Apprentice Roofer (Level 2 – duration up to 2 to 2½ years)
- Apprentice Plumbers (Level 3 – duration 4 – 4½ years)

Career ProgressionAt South Tyneside Council, we are committed to growing our own. Our apprenticeships are designed to provide a clear path for career progression. As you gain experience and complete your apprenticeship, you will have opportunities to take on more responsibilities and advance within the organisation. Many of our apprentices have moved into full‑time roles and have continued to grow, taking on leadership positions and contributing to larger projects.

Minimum requirements- GCSE’s or predicted grades at Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English, or Functional Skills Level 2 in both.
- Or an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan, a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a Learning Difficulty Assessment (LDA).
School leavers must indicate predicted grades. Applications without grades or predicted grades will not be considered.
