Project Engineer
Ingredion is hiring a Project Engineer who is assigned to design and execute multiple projects, delivering scope, time, and cost safely according to a plan. Supports the overall operation, providing technical expertise and innovation, utilizing knowledge of engineering principles, practices, and experience by executing capital projects and learning to recognize improvement opportunities. This position identifies opportunities and successfully implements change to strategically reduce manufacturing costs, optimize productivity, and minimize waste, engaging with key stakeholders and effectively sharing information.
What you will do:
- Designs and executes multiple projects with some complexity, delivering scope, time, and cost according to a plan.
- Works with engineering service providers, contractors, and vendors to specify equipment and installations.
- Ensures processes and procedures comply with internal programs and external requirements.
- Develops engineering designs with some intermediate complexity, material and energy balances, process flow diagrams, preliminary P&IDs, and process control strategies.
- Possesses intermediate knowledge of project management methodology and project stages.
- Responsible for the full life cycle of project management process for capital projects: concept, design, estimating, proposal submittal, purchasing, installation, start-up, commissioning, documentation, training, and closure.
- Uses knowledge management tools to surface best solutions.
- Uses knowledge of the production process to make significant improvements to the production process.
- Analyzes data and performance targets to identify highest value improvement opportunities.
- Analyzing processes, developing new operating techniques and recommending changes or capital expenditures to maintain or improve business efficiencies, facility life and quality.
- Designing and implementing capital permits and projects as identified and assigned, within budget and on time, delivering targeted return on investment and in compliance with engineering standards.
- Providing technical support to the EHS&S and Quality Manager to design and/or redesign work processes that eliminate losses due to personal injury or property damage.
- Supervising and executing projects, establishing and meeting budget, scheduling and supervising project activity, training personnel, supervising start-up and coordinating with all departments.
- Strongly supports lean manufacturing methodologies, ensuring all team members utilize the tools, delivering results.
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to develop and implement continuous improvement strategies aimed at optimizing overall equipment reliability and performance.
- Continuous improvement initiatives, cost-saving measures, digital transformation, and downtime reduction.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement projects to elevate the reliability and performance of factory assets and structures.
- Analyze existing operational costs with a focus on implementing innovative and effective cost-saving strategies, ensuring resource utilization is maximized without compromising the reliability of operations.
