From leading general ledger operations to owning financial and statutory reporting, this team ensures our numbers are accurate, timely, and rock solid under GAAP and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP). Whether steering GL or financial reporting, you’ll collaborate with teams across actuarial, underwriting, and claims, strengthen systems, and develop a high performing team in a fast moving, regulated industry.

Location: Corporate Office in South Sioux City, NE (Hybrid Work Schedule)
What You’ll Do- Lead, mentor, and inspire accounting team members — fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Partner with the leadership team on financial reporting, audits, and special projects.
- Support intercompany reconciliations and monthly close processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and strengthen internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within insurance or a related industry.
- Proven leadership and coaching abilities — you thrive on developing people and improving processes.
- Strong technical knowledge, analytical mindset, and attention to detail.
