Overview

The Cell Leader plays a critical role in supporting Electro-Methods' aerospace manufacturing operations by providing hands‑on leadership, coordination, and technical oversight for a team of machinists, operators, and technicians.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Cell Leader is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production execution while maintaining compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, customer requirements, and company standards. This position serves as the primary shop floor leader for the assigned cell, driving workforce engagement, operational performance, continuous improvement, and on‑time delivery.

The ideal candidate will combine strong aerospace manufacturing experience with demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to Electro‑Methods' Cultural Cornerstones of Safety, Precision, Excellence, and Collaboration.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Workforce Management
  • Direct and supervise daily activities of assigned production personnel.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and on‑the‑job training to support employee development and engagement.
  • Monitor attendance, timekeeping, staffing levels, and work assignments to meet production schedules.
  • Promote a positive, high‑accountability work environment.
  • Enforce safety, quality, and compliance standards consistently and fairly.
  • Partner with management to support workforce planning and succession development.
Operational Execution
  • Oversee machine setups, workflow, production priorities, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure production activities meet customer delivery schedules and quality expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, OSHA, and Electro‑Methods policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve barriers.
  • Drive first‑pass yield, productivity, and on‑time delivery performance.
  • Escalate operational issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Serve as the first line of leadership on the manufacturing floor.
  • Facilitate communication between production personnel and management.
  • Participate in daily tier meetings, providing updates on production progress, constraints, and corrective actions.
  • Lead and support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance workplace safety.
  • Provide recommendations regarding equipment needs, workforce capabilities, and operational improvements.
Required Qualifications & Skills Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or vocational training in machining, aerospace manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in an aerospace manufacturing, precision machining, or related manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a lead, supervisory, coordinator, or team leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining operations, blueprint reading, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting AS9100, NADCAP, and aerospace quality requirements preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing workflows, scheduling, and production controls.
  • Familiarity with inspection practices, quality systems, and process documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production reporting systems.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and engage teams.
  • Excellent communication skills across shifts, departments, and organizational levels.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • High level of accountability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing and shop‑floor environment.
  • Frequent interaction with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Second Shift position.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
  • Occasional overtime as required to support production schedules.
