Schedule: Full-time, 2nd Shift |
Compensation: $115,000–$135,000 base + bonus
An established consumer products manufacturer operating a large, highly automated production facility is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily maintenance operations within an assigned department. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who leads from the floor, builds trust with their team, and stays closely engaged with both equipment and people in a union manufacturing environment.
What you'll do- Build, coach, and develop a team of 16 mechanics and electricians through direct engagement, structured training, and consistent follow‑through
- Step in on complex electrical and mechanical troubleshooting alongside the team when production is at stake, in a union shop setting where coaching rather than hands‑on repair is expected
- Handle workforce planning responsibilities including scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and ongoing development of maintenance staff
- Hold the team to safety standards every day and foster a culture where safe work is non‑negotiable
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams and contribute actively to capital improvement projects
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
- Hands‑on background diagnosing and repairing both electrical and mechanical systems on production equipment
- Track record of developing maintenance technicians and improving team performance over time
- Comfortable reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
- Clear communicator who can work across departments and lead a team with consistency and accountability
- Must have manufacturing experience in a complex operation with a lot of different types of equipment
- High school diploma or GED with strong relevant experience will be considered if no degree or technical certification is held
- Degree or technical certification preferred
- Experience in a union manufacturing environment is preferred
- High‑speed packaging, CPG, food, or personal care products manufacturing background is a plus
- PLC troubleshooting familiarity is a plus
- Base salary of $115,000–$135,000 plus bonus
