Pay:
Starting at $40.53/hour ranging to $41.75/hour for qualified experience

Shifts Available:

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts
  • Weekdays and weekends

Scope of Responsibility:

The RN will provide services directly through contact with clients and indirectly through contacts with other staff involved with the clients. Services are designed to preserve and improve the client’s health and are closely coordinated with the clients’ primary physicians and other specialty physicians as needed and appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Nursing license required
  • Valid Connecticut Driver’s license and eligibility for Network, Inc.’s auto insurance
  • Obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR and PMT certification
  • Good interpersonal relationships and communication skills
  • Maturity, good judgment, and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong administrative and organization skills
  • Be available and flexible as needed
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Job Responsibilities:

  • Participation in client pre-admission evaluation, program design and transition from one facility to another; ongoing reevaluation of the appropriateness of client services; discharge planning and referral to community resources.
  • Training of clients in habits of personal hygiene, family life and sex education (including family planning and venereal disease counseling) through client and staff contact.
  • Control of communicable diseases and infections through their identification and assessment, through reporting of said diseases to medical authorities, and through implementation of appropriate protective and preventive measures. Client-specific written nursing plans are to be developed as part of clients’ habilitation program. These plans are to be reviewed on an ongoing basis and modified as needed, but in no instance less than annually for adults and more frequently for children.
  • Participation in training of direct care staff in: detection of signs and symptoms of illness or dysfunction that merit medical or nursing intervention; basic skills to meet clients’ health needs and problems; first aid for accident or illness.
  • Supervision of all nursing services provided at the program, including ongoing consultation with the nursing staff employed therein.
  • Development, supervision of implementation, and quarterly review and revision of written client-specific health care plans that follow the instructions of said clients’ attending physician.
  • With consultant pharmacist, ongoing review of each client’s medication history and current records for potential adverse reactions, allergies, interactions, contradictions, rationality and laboratory test modifications; advice to clients’ physicians regarding any recommended changes, reasons and alternate drug regimen.
  • Supervise the initial worksite administration of medications by certified unlicensed personnel and document such supervision.
  • As appropriate, and with the consultant pharmacist, development of written policies and procedures governing safe administration and handling of all drugs including drug packaging, labeling, identification, dispensing, charting, and self-administration of drugs, deposition forms, medication errors, and full signature for all initials used by persons documenting the administration of medication.
  • Make periodic observations of the administration of medications by certified unlicensed personnel at least annually and document such observations.
  • Ongoing review of drug storage location, condition and controls as required for drug integrity and to meet applicable laws, rules and regulations, whether medication was administered as prescribed.
  • Ongoing participation with the Registered Dietician in evaluating client nutritional needs, design and implementation of nutritional programs which are client-specific.
  • As appropriate and in coordination with the Registered Dietician, ongoing staff in-service regarding nutritional programs.
  • Attend all annual, semi-annual and quarterly meetings for individuals assigned to your load.
  • Monthly review of kardexes, progress notes, MD orders, and all pertinent medical information.
