Position: Final Inspector (PT) - Temporary - South Windsor, CT

Summary

Final Inspector will perform comprehensive quality control inspections on finished optical products in a lens manufacturing environment, ensuring all lenses meet specified optical and cosmetic standards before release to customers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prioritize work based on start dates, follow all SOP's
  • Maintain final inspection equipment loaded with work
  • Clear errors from automatic equipment
  • Inspect the final product according to the Final Inspection Release Criteria (optics and cosmetics)
  • Communicate with Supervisor/Manager regarding issues and problems
  • Perform Class Plus Inspection
  • Inspect in manual lens meter any jobs that are rejected by automatic inspection equipment
Key Skills Required
  • The ability to communicate openly with others and work as a team
  • Must be able to work overtime or flexible shifts when needed
  • Must be able to follow all company policies and procedures
  • Must be able to understand and implement work instructions
  • Must be able to understand prescription requirements and quality standards
  • The ability to do simple/basic math and measurements
  • Work without supervision
  • Able to identify optical and cosmetic defects accurately
  • Problem solving skills for troubleshooting equipment
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inspection equipment systems
  • Attention to detail for accurate quality assessment
  • Manual dexterity for operating lens meters and inspection tools
Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and occasional sitting
  • Lift up to 25 pounds regularly
  • Close vision and focus adjustment abilities required
Safety Requirements
  • Understanding of workplace safety programs
  • Closed toe shoes and safety glasses when required
  • Safe tool handling practices
  • Moderate noise work environment
