Quality Assurance Manager (Aerospace)

Location:

South Windsor, Connecticut

Salary:
Competitive, DOE (Dependent on Experience)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager with a strong background in the aerospace industry to lead and enhance our quality systems and processes. This role is designed as a succession position, with the expectation that the successful candidate will grow into the Director of Quality role within 2–3 years.

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader who combines deep technical expertise with the ambition and capability to take on executive-level responsibilities in the near future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all quality assurance and quality control functions across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, FAA, etc.)
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality management systems and processes
  • Oversee internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory inspections
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
  • Mentor and develop the quality team, building leadership bench strength
  • Support strategic planning and contribute to long-term organizational goals
  • Prepare for transition into Director-level responsibilities, including leadership of broader quality strategy
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance within the aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing industry
  • Proven knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100 required)
  • Strong experience with audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • High potential for executive leadership and long-term growth within the company
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (subject to applicable laws and accommodations)
