Quality Assurance Manager (Aerospace)
Location:
South Windsor, Connecticut
Salary:
Competitive, DOE (Dependent on Experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager with a strong background in the aerospace industry to lead and enhance our quality systems and processes. This role is designed as a succession position, with the expectation that the successful candidate will grow into the Director of Quality role within 2–3 years.
The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader who combines deep technical expertise with the ambition and capability to take on executive-level responsibilities in the near future.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage all quality assurance and quality control functions across the organization
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., AS9100, FAA, etc.)
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality management systems and processes
- Oversee internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory inspections
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and drive corrective and preventive actions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams
- Mentor and develop the quality team, building leadership bench strength
- Support strategic planning and contribute to long-term organizational goals
- Prepare for transition into Director-level responsibilities, including leadership of broader quality strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in quality assurance within the aerospace or highly regulated manufacturing industry
- Proven knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100 required)
- Strong experience with audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean)
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- High potential for executive leadership and long-term growth within the company
- COVID-19 vaccination required (subject to applicable laws and accommodations)
- Ambitious and career-driven, with a clear interest in advancing to a Director-level role
- Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
